1 Thessalonians 3: 1-5

So when we could stand it no longer, we thought it best to be left by ourselves in Athens. We sent Timothy, who is our brother and co-worker in God’s service in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. For you know quite well that we are destined for them. In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know. For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter had tempted you and that our labors might have been in vain.

As I walk beside Jill this week as she teaches at Gilgal House, I am encouraging and establishing the women! I wasn’t sure what my ‘role’ was going to be. How true it is that when we suffer, we need the love and support of other Christians!! I am so grateful that we have US!!
Unless told, I have trouble knowing just how things effected Paul!! Why did it cause a hardship to Paul by sending Timothy to the Church in Thessalonians??
I except that it was a totally selfless thing for Paul to send Timothy, I just stuggle with knowing why!!
Paul was a brave servant of the Lord!!! So devoted to the Lord and the other followers of Jesus!!!

It’s my understanding that Timothy was like a son to him and he needed him as much as the Thessalonians did. But, he chose to put them first.
