The Church Persecuted and Scattered

On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.

iii. The resulting good of the spread of the gospel leads some to see this persecution as being the will of God. God can and will use pressing circumstances to guide us into His will. Sometimes we have to be shaken out of our comfortable state before we do what God wants us to do. I can definitely relate to this commentary I love how the Bible editors will sometimes put a verse before the heading. It really emphasizes the statement. Yes, Winnie and I went and saw it. It’s dark and profound! I may go see it again, once we are done with Acts. I may have to rent it by then because I think it’s in between theatre and dvd right now.

I believe this happens a lot more than we r awsre of, and no one is immune ☹️ I can attest to that!

I was really intrigued about the testimony of the 5 missionary men that the commentator talked about!! Actually is was the servicing wife of Jim Elliot that caught my attention!! So I looked up Elisabeth Elliot!! Wow she was an Amazing woman that it sounds like the LORD used mightly!! I recommend that You look her name up!!! She wrote a lot of books!! 3 of which are about her husband, his death, then how the Lord used her to reach the people that had murdered her husband, for the Lord!!! What a testimony!!! Yes, they were all amazing! I saw the movie and the interview on tv of one of the changed men from the tribe and her son who grew up there among them…I can’t even imagine being that courageous.
