Ephesians 3: 1-13

God’s Marvelous Plan for the Gentiles

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles—

Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.

I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, 11 according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. 13 I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

It is almost morning!! I fell asleep while reading!! I am so grateful for God’s Word! We had an amazing time in home fellowship tonight!!! It leaves me in Awe as I read Paul’s words here to the Gentiles (me/us)!! I think about the mystery that after reading just a few Scripture in John over a few days I was convinced the Jesus was who He said He is!! So convinced that I turned my whole life over to Him!! Yet my Friend whom was raised since birth on the Old Testament and loves the Father, cannot see Jesus the… Read more »

Bonnie, the prayers for your friend are precious. These scriptures are the ones where the ‘ribbon fell’ in my story with the Bible my dad left me. It is my inheritance from him and he didn’t even know it when he gave it to me many many years ago. Or maybe he did. I don’t know. I just know that the mysteries of the unsearchable riches of Christ began to be revealed to me with this particular Bible and at the time when my dad left this earth. The last few days have been rough. Scott sent me his story… Read more »

This is an amazing section!! “Envision touched by an angel” escorting the spirit to God at death!I never knew that we are witnessing to the ‘angels and demons (fallen angels)’ for their salvation – that all can come together in the end… i. Of course, God also wants to reveal this wisdom to the church. Yet in the big picture, God doesn’t use the angels to reveal His wisdom to the saints, but He does use the saints to reveal His wisdom to the angelic beings, both faithful and fallen angels. This reminds us that we are called for something… Read more »

Wow! I never noticed the depth of this before. I didn’t read commentary the other day and am just now seeing what you wrote. I went back and read it over and over and then read the commentary. WOW! My mind is kind of blown. I have never given much thought to angels and other beings. I tend to turn away from it out of fear of the unknown or unrelatable. vi. “It is as if a great drama is being enacted. History is the theatre, the world is the stage, and the church members in every land are the… Read more »
