Living Water
I have thirsted for physical water. My husband and I go hiking. We don't always plan well. By the time we get done I feel like I could drink multiple gallons of water.
In the Gospels there is an account of Jesus arriving in Samaria at Jacob’s well. It was the middle of the day and a Samaritan woman came to the well to fill her jar with water. Jesus approached her and ask for a drink. She was curious as to why Jesus, a Jew, would associate with a Samaritan Woman. Jesus answered her, “If you knew God, He would give you living water. “ She asked, “Sir where do I get this living water?”
John 4:13 Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. 14 But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give him will become a well[fn] of water springing up in him for eternal life.”
Just like the Samaritan woman I too thirst for the eternal water.
“Come,” says the Holy Spirit and the Bride in divine duet . Let everyone who hears this duet join them in saying, “Come.” Let everyone gripped with spiritual thirst say, “Come.” And let everyone who craves the gift of living water come and drink it freely. “ It is my gift to you! Come.”
